"Cloud's are nature's poetry," reckons Gavin Pretor-Pinney, author of one of the surprise hits of the summer.
Turned downed by 28 publishers, 'The CloudSpotter's Guide' has since sold 40,000 copies in two months and features in the Sunday Times Top 10.
Pretor-Pinney is not that surprised by the success. "It seems to be a universal thing that people when they're kids loved to look up at the clouds. Everyone's got that interest deep down within them ... Perhaps the book is simply waking up that dormant interest."
As if to emphasise the point the Cloud Appreciation Society website - another Pretor-Pinney creation - gets a reported 20 million hits a month. So for those who want to find out what's cloud of the month...
