So the marvellous Ming Campbell likes (or at the very least has heard of) the Arctic Monkeys. According to him they have even sold more albums than the Beatles. Of course, not true, but it shows Ming is trying at least.
Politicians love showing their public credibility by listing their musical tastes. It makes them seem hip and cool and all those things we don't really want them to be.
David Cameron has admitted his love for The Smiths, Blur, Pulp and Radiohead. Gordon Brown is apparently a big fan of the underground garage-influenced 'grime' music of Lady Sovereign. Alan Johnson has been said to like Super Furry Animals and Tony Blair's favourite band are Irish rockers U2. The prime minister says he also listens to Coldplay and the Foo Fighters. Though we are not sure if this website is meant to be telling us something.
But do they really like this music or is it just a front?
